Learn Spanish in Madrid

Madrid

This capital city is wonderfully non touristic; stay here and you’ll have so many Spanish experiences, without the crowds.

Madrid isn’t overcrowded or overly touristic like its European counterparts. This charming city always feels authentic, whether you’re eating chocolate and churros or exploring one of the many city parks. The public transport is excellent and with every day you stay there’s a new place to discover.

This is one of the few capital cities where life moves slowly. There’s no rush here, just an authentic Spanish vibe that will quickly make you feel at home. Spend some time in Madrid and you soon discover your own little favourites; bars, restaurants, plazas, streets, and places where you can really practice your Spanish.

The highlights are many. Tour luxurious old palaces. Wander colourful neighbourhoods. Visit the famous trio of art museums. Take time out in the parks. And take easy day trips to old cities nearby, such as Avila, Toledo and Alcala de Henares.

There’s a two-fold beauty to staying in Madrid. After 24 hours you will feel comfortable and at home in your surroundings. But even after four weeks there will still be new experiences to find.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid is the world’s most glamorous football team. Just take a glance in the trophy room and you’ll understand how successful they have been. Tour the stadium and you’ll appreciate how many superstars have played here. And if you’re lucky, attend a game to experience the white-hot atmosphere.

Royal Palace

The world’s largest palace stands elegantly in central Madrid. Walking past its baroque facade is one of the main city highlights. Head inside and you’ll find hundreds of elegant rooms and many old stories.

Museum Triangle

Madrid’s trilogy of art museums is world famous. Explore a millennia of Spanish and Flemish art in the Prado. Admire a diverse and once private collection at Thyssen-Bornemisza. Then see contemporary greats like Picasso at the Reina Sofia.

Retiro Park

Walking through Retiro Park is like walking through royal palace gardens. It’s a stunning green space, perfect for a relaxed afternoon with friends, ideal when you need a quiet space to go over your notes and practice your Spanish reading skills.

La Latina district

The oldest part of Madrid is where you will spend many evenings. Get lost on the cobbled streets, hop between tapas bars and small boutiques, and admire an assortment of Spanish architecture that’s had a facelift during the last few years.
